The Most Effective Way to Build Big Arms

If you want to build big arms that make women swoon, then you want to read this article.

So you want to build big arms?

Good.

Nothing says “I’m a real man” like massive arms.

You might be extremely strong, you might be very athletic, or you might have extreme indurance. But if you have small arms, none of these accomplishments matter.

The only thing people will ask you is, “Do you even lift, bro?”.

And since we do indeed lift, we need to focus on how to build big arms.

Let me clarify: We need to focus on how to build big arms without taking steroids.

You see, a lot of fitness magazines, websites, and articles will give you absolutely terrible advice when it comes to building muscle.

They’ll show you the routines of professional bodybuilders like Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman, or Kai Greene. And while I do have a lot of respect for these guys and their dedication, workout routines that work for “chemically enhanced” athletes, don’t work well for normal people like you and I.

For us natural lifters, we need a different approach.

This is French weightlifter Ernest Cadine. He was making gains in 1920, long before the widespread use of anabolic steroids. (Steroid research first began in 1935.)

By the way: I’m not against steroids. It’s your health, you alone are responsible for it, and you should do whatever  you want.

However: Taking anabolic steroids can be quite detrimental to your health, as studies have shown.

That’s the reason why I don’t take steroids and never have.

A study conducted at The College Of New Jearsy states showed that, “Clinical case studies continue to link anabolic steroid administration with myocardial infarct, suicide, and cancer. […] evidence to support a cause and effect relationship is lacking.” Nevertheless, I don’t think taking steroids is worth the risk, as you can build absolutely massive arms without them.

So follow this guide and be rewarded with absolutely massive arms that guys with be jealous of and women will be turned on by.

1. Have Enough Body Mass aka Don’t be Skinny

You will never build big arms if you’re a skinny little twig.

Don’t be skinny. That’s why we lift weights. Being skinny doesn’t just look unattractive. It hurts you in more ways than you can imagine. Likewise, if you have built some muscle, you will be rewarded for it handsomely. If you’re on the skinny side, no worries, just focus on packing on some muscle mass.

You can only work on specific body parts to an extent. Being a skinny little guy with massive arms is just not going to happen.

In order to have massive arms, you need to be at a decent size. Take a look at the picture of the old shool French weightlifter at the beginning of the page. He has nice guns. And he also has decent body mass in general.

So if you’re too skinny, focus on building some mass overall. Big arms will come with along with it. There’s no point in trying to get big arms, if you’re 140 lbs.

2. Work Your Biceps and Your Triceps

When you think of big arms, you’ll most likely think of huge biceps. However, your biceps is only part of your arm.

The bigger muscle on your arm is actually the triceps.

As a result, you should never neglect to work your triceps. They will give you more arm circumference and thus a bigger arm than working your biceps.

Working on getting big triceps will give you better results than working on getting big biceps, if you want big arms. Of course, you need to work both.

So, don’t neglect your triceps. They make up a bigger part of your arm than your biceps.

Skull-crushers and narrow-grip benchpress are your friends here to build your triceps.

For building great looking biceps, barbell curls, single barbell curls, and the bicep curl machine (yes I know, freeweights are usually preferable to machines) should give you excellent results.

The reason I recommend the biceps curl machine is that studies have shown it to be more effective when it comes to building big biceps. That’s because there’s weight on your biceps on the way up and down, excentric and concentric. This is great for maximizing your biceps gains.

3. Focus on Compound Exercises like Chin-ups, Barbell Rows, and Dips

As we said earlier, you need to pack on decent muscle mass on your whole body in order to have big arms. Therefore, focus on compound exercises that help you gain muscle mass.

The most effective exercises for packing on muscle mass are:

(Weighed) Chin-Ups

Chin-ups are an excellent exercise and they will give you massive arms. The reasons is that you need to have good general upper body strength to do them. They will make you strong.

Chin-ups will give you huge, bulging biceps.

Since they’re more intense than single-arm barbell curls for example, they will help you put on more muscle mass.

If you’re a real boss, you’ll do them weighed. Now, this separates the boys from the real men.

If you see a guy at the gym doing weighed pull-ups for reps, everybody will be mirin’. And they’re usually quite big and jacked.

Chin-ups will give you big guns. If you’re struggling with them, don’t worry, that’s totally natural. Just work your way up there.

Barbell Rows

Yes, I know, barbell rows are a great back exercise. But guess what? They’ll also give you big biceps.

What’s great about barbell rows is that you can stimulate your arms with a lot of weight. Heavy weights always exert a great stimulus on your muscles.

What’s more, barbell rows give you a nice stretch in your arms. You can really feel the pump.

So barbell rows aren’t just an excellent exercise for your back, but also a fantastic exercise for your arms. They give you a lot of “bang for your buck”.

Dips

Ah yes. Dips are sometimes called “squats for your upper body.” Meaning that they are a great mass builder.

They’ll put slabs of muscle mass on your entire upper body. Dips don’t just build big arms.

They  provide your triceps with excellent stimulus.

If you’re good at dips, you will, by the very nature of this exercise, have big arms.

It’s almost impossible to do weighed dips for reps when you’re skinny and weak.

Dips will put slabs of quality muscle not just on your arms, but your entire upper body.

Remember This:

First, focus on building muscle and putting muscle mass on your entire body before trying to build big arms. If you’re strong enough that you can do chin-ups and dips for 15 reps, you will have big arms.

Of course, if you’re overweight, focus first on losing weight. Likewise, if you’re somewhat chubby and unsure if you should bulk or cut first, you should probably cut first. You will look more attractive when you’re at a lower body fat level. Looking awesome because you’re at a lower body fat level will make you more successful because you’re more attractive. It also help you build muscle more easily due to things like improved insulin sensitivity and being better able to gauge your progress.

Secondly, work out your biceps as well as your triceps. Don’t neglect your triceps.

And lastly, focus on compound excercises that give you the most “bang for your buck”.

There you have, follow this guide and you will be handsomely rewarded with awesome gains.

So go out and build some massive arms.

Till next time,

Dom.
